Jason Scott & The High Heat Release "Golden" From Their Upcoming Album

New Song “Golden” Available Today

Americana-Country rockers Jason Scott & The High Heat have announced their highly anticipated new album, American Grin, set for release on March 28 via Leo33. The album follows their acclaimed debut, Castle Rock, and expands their signature sound - melding high energy southern rock with desert-worn Americana, honky tonk grit, and road-trip-ready anthems.

To celebrate the announcement, the band has released “Golden,” a standout track from American Grin, available everywhere today. 

A soundtrack for wide-open highways and late-night dives, American Grin, captures the essence of the American experience - its contradictions, its humor, its resilience. Inspired by everything from spaghetti-western soundscapes to Tex-Mex textures and roadhouse funky-tonk, the album blurs genre lines while staying true to Jason Scott’s sharp storytelling and the band's electric chemistry.

“We wanted to be a little bit playful during such a serious time,” Jason says of the album, which he began writing during the Covid pandemic. “To pull back, look at the landscape, and write about the absurdity of American life.”

That balance of humor and depth shines throughout the album - whether in the Friday-night misadventures of “Me & The Bottle (Hungover You)”, the thumping, baritone guitar-driving “Yardwork” (which is about much more than lawn maintenance), or the expansive, symphonic closer “Maria,” which recalls the lush experimentalism of Wilco and The Beach Boys.

Recorded with former bandmate turned producer Taylor Johnson, the album was crafted in both Oklahoma City and the Texas borderlands, where the band drew inspiration from the sounds and culture surrounding them. From ZZ Top-worthy guitars on “If We Make Til The Mornin’” to the mirachi influenced strains of “Interstate of Mind”, American Grin expands the sonic reach of the band while staying true to the grit and groove that have made them one of the most compelling acts in Americana today. 

Jason Scott & The High Heat are set to hit the road in support of American Grin, with dates including March 6 at the new Skinny Dennis in Nashville and an upcoming show at Mercury Lounge in Tulsa.
